Celebrate the Season at Crossroads

December is a great time to be at Crossroads at Big Creek

On Dec. 17, 10-11 am, the Junior Nature Club – a program intended for preschool children and their companions – will take a snowy hike to the cedar forest to look for animal tracks. Meet on the porch of the Collins Learning Center.

Saturday Science will meet again Dec. 18, 2 pm, for eBirding while the Sturgeon Bay Christmas Bird Count is underway the same day. This session will be an introduction to the community-science eBird program. After a short orientation in the lecture hall, participants will go out into the field to help count the birds of Crossroads.

To celebrate the winter solstice, join the bonfire at the Council Ring on Dec. 21, 5:30-7 pm. Crossroads will provide the makings for s’mores, but attendees are encouraged to supply their own picnic-dinner foods to roast over the fire.

On Christmas Eve, 10-11 am, learners of all ages are invited to join the Junior Nature Club for the traditional Night Tree celebration, during which children will decorate a tree for the birds and animals. Meet on the porch of the Collins Learning Center.

Masks are recommended inside the buildings at Crossroads at Big Creek (crossroadsatbigcreek.org), 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay.
