Celebrate Women’s History Month at Crossroads

The March 25 meeting of Saturday Science at Crossroads at Big Creek will celebrate Women’s History Month with a program about the “women in the sky”: the Seven Sisters, Venus, Virgo, Cassiopeia and Andromeda. Children and their families will explore these constellations, 1-4 pm, through myths, skits and reading sky maps. Meet in the upper level of the Collins Learning Center, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay.

A previous astronomy skit at Crossroads. Submitted.

On March 25, 7:30 pm, the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society will host a viewing night, when members will be in the Stargarden pointing out these “women in the sky” and giving people a chance to look through small telescopes. The observatory’s telescope will be focused on deep-sky objects. If clouds block the sky, society members will offer planetarium shows in the Stonecipher Astronomy Center, 2200 Utah St. in Sturgeon Bay.
