Bay Ridge Golf Course will join hundreds of global events around the world on June 8 to celebrate the world’s oceans and waterways. World Oceans Day was established to encourage everyone to recognize the importance of the oceans and help to preserve and protect oceans and waterways. The theme for 2017 is “Our Oceans, Our Future.”
Bay Ridge’s event will feature colorful flags and ocean/water-related pictures featuring creatures of the lakes and oceans. At the end of the day there will be a raffle for a great shark kite.
“We had such fun celebrating our 50th birthday last year we decided to have annual celebrations to recognize important environmental issues,” said Dianne Trenchard, operator of Bay Ridge. “Next year we plan to celebrate International Migratory Bird Day. This is all for fun, but with a serious twist. Golfers and non-golfers are invited to join us and sit and share in the beauty and peacefulness of our special green space in the Village of Sister Bay.”
Bay Ridge Golf Course is located at between Sister Bay and Ephraim on Hwy. 42.
