Break out the hoodies, and whip up the pumpkin-spice lattes – it’s fall, baby! Well, close enough. Although the autumnal equinox won’t take place until Sept. 22 at 8:03 pm, the peninsula is gearing up to celebrate the harvest season. Here’s the rundown on where you can get your fill of all things fall.
Harvest Fest
Sturgeon Bay, Sept. 16-17
Usher in the autumn and all the fun that comes with the season during Sturgeon Bay’s annual Harvest Fest and street-art auction on Saturday, Sept. 17. But the festivities kick off the evening before – Friday, Sept. 16, at 5:30 pm – with the classic-car parade. Then return the next morning for a full day of festive activities, including a classic-car show, craft fair, Cherries Jubilee street-art auction, live music, food vendors and in-store specials throughout the city’s downtown area.
Autumnfest
Baileys Harbor, Sept. 24
If you couldn’t make it to the classic-car display at Harvest Fest – or you can’t get enough of awesome autos – Baileys Harbor’s Autumnfest will feature the Pinups & Pistons photo shoot, hot rods and live music rocking the Midway Stage, 11 am – 3 pm. See a complete schedule of events and registration details for the classic-car show at baileysharbor.doorcounty.com/events/autumnfest.
Pumpkin Patch Festival
Egg Harbor, Oct. 8-9
Rain or shine, this celebration of pumpkins, family fun and fall colors features live music, carnival rides, face painting, an arts-and-crafts fair, pumpkin and scarecrow displays, food and fun for all ages. See the complete event schedule at eggharbordoorcounty.org/event/pumpkin-patch.
Fall Fest
Sister Bay, Oct. 14-16
If you haven’t had your fill of fall fun after Pumpkin Patch Days, never fear. Sister Bay has you covered the next weekend, when Fall Fest takes over the streets of the village in epic fashion for three days of fun, games, music, food and arts-and-crafts vendors. Don’t miss annual favorites such as the Lion’s Club fish boil, Saturday’s pancake breakfast and the Fall Fest Parade. Details and schedules are available at sisterbay.com/events/p/sisterbayfallfest.
Jack-o-Lantern Days
Fish Creek, Oct. 28-30
It’s the festival that puts the “eek” in Fish Creek! Fun for even the smallest of pumpkins, this hometown Halloween festival includes a costume contest, games, town-wide trick-or-treating and the annual Fruit Loop Run! Go to visitfishcreek.com/event/jack-o-lantern-days to see updates and schedules.
