Celebrating Civility through Speakers and Song

Barbara Lawton at the Civility Celebration said, “Politics is about the dignity of daily life, for all. And civility wraps this ongoing struggle, which is our democracy, in our best selves. It demands we treat each other with respect, and grants us grace.” Submitted.

The Door County Civility Celebration was held April 27 at Stone Harbor Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay. At the celebration Barbara Lawton, the 42nd Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin, was the featured speaker, Jeanne Kuhns shared her thoughts on civility through song, and Southern Door High School Principal Steve Bousley spoke of the Speak Your Peace Program in place at the high school.
