Celebrating National FFA Week

At a time where so many traditional experiences have been paused or adjusted, Future Farmers of America (FFA) members continue to find opportunities for personal growth, school leadership and community involvement as they celebrate National FFA Week, Feb. 19-26. The Wisconsin Association of FFA, consisting of 252 chapters and 19,908 FFA members, develops students who are the people employers are searching for with top-notch qualities in various areas.

Across the 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, FFA membership numbers totaled at 735,038 last year. Students enrolled in agricultural education realize the great opportunities FFA provides them as an intra-curricular organization. They are learning through hands-on instruction to build valuable skills, and demonstrate their capabilities through competitive events focusing on agriculture in the real world.

Wisconsin FFA members have been working tirelessly to embrace this year’s state theme of “The Time is Now,” through developing community service projects for their hometowns and gaining valuable life skills throughout their time in the organization. It is now more than ever that we need to ensure the next generation of leaders is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to make a difference in their schools and communities. Students have attended virtual trainings to prepare themselves for Career and Leadership Development Events and shown up to conventions virtually to gain new experiences.
