CERAMICS, WALL SCULPTURES AT IDEA GALLERY

Idea Gallery will host an opening reception for its Exhibit 2 on July 9, 4-7 pm, when the featured artists will be Daniela Kouzov, ceramics, and Jan Jahnke, printmaking and wall relief sculpture. Enjoy refreshments in the sculpture garden and the music of acoustic guitarist Stephen Lavell.

This is Kouzov’s second season showing at Idea Gallery. Originally from Bulgaria, she has been in the United States for 20 years, perfecting her craft as a ceramic artist. She’ll be unveiling a new series of porcelain wall relief sculptures that visually float, as well as sculptural pedestal pieces.

Jahnke has shown her work nationally in juried and invitational exhibits and was a distinguished teacher of printmaking at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. This is her first season with Idea Gallery. She will exhibit her silk-screen prints and her series of Spirit Shields, a combination of silk screen on handmade paper combined with found materials.
