Ever wonder what plants or animals call your land home? Or how you can provide them with better habitat? Through Jan. 31, people can enter a lottery to be one of 100 lucky individuals to win a free Landowner Conservation Report from the Wisconsin DNR. The report, customized for your property, will include information on rare plants and animals in the area, general recommendations for improving habitat, and information on financial and technical resources that may be available to you.
The information in the report is gathered by a DNR ecologist based on aerial images and database searches within a five-mile area. There’s also the option to have an ecologist visit your land to discuss how to improve habitat for wildlife on the property. Enter the lottery at dnr.wi.gov/topic/EndangeredResources/lcr.html.
