Charlene’s Gallery Ten Features Ray Kapfamer

Painting by Ray Kapfamer.

Ray Kapfamer’s new series of paintings – entitled the “Door County Great River,” a moving force depicting the energy of the people who come to enjoy the Peninsula – is currently on display at Charlene’s Gallery Ten in Gills Rock. The exhibit will be on display through September 9.

“These paintings have been created from pastel studies rendered outdoors at various locations throughout the region,” Kapfamer explained. The series also includes photos, all brought together to give the impression of the great river.

“Part of my goal,” Kapfamer stated, “is not to give away the whole picture to the viewer, but leave something for them to complete.”

Kapfamer maintains a working studio at the ARTGarage in Green Bay. He received his formal education from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and continues his education with studies at UW-Milwaukee and workshops at the Peninsula Art School.

Charlene’s Gallery Ten, open daily from 10 am – 5 pm (closed Tuesdays), is located at 12625 Highway 42 in Gills Rock. GT Coffee complements the gallery, serving espresso drinks and Door County cherry pie by-the-slice daily from 8 am – 5 pm with free Wi-Fi.
