Cheeky Fruitcake Yard Signs Raise Funds for Financial Literacy

Money Management Counselor (MMC) elves are once again planting Cheeky Fruitcake yard signs around Door County and Algoma neighborboods as a fundraiser to help community members through improved financial literacy.

Last year, fruitcake signs helped 20-plus people to receive the financial counseling they needed to buy a home, find alternatives to bankruptcy, revise budgets to create savings, and use their Social Security benefits to pay for necessities rather than debt.

MMC’s goal this year is to support more than 50 people through financial-literacy services. Want to help? Pay $25 to have MMC elves stake a Cheeky Fruitcake yard sign in an unsuspecting victim’s yard. Paying $40 will guarantee that a Cheeky Fruitcake sign does not end up on your lawn. If you get fruitcaked and want to regift the sign, elves will remove it for $15 and plant it in someone else’s yard before the new year. Buying four Cheeky Fruitcake yard signs gets you one free.

The deadline to order is Dec. 10. Call 920.743.1862 or fill out a form at to participate.
