• Door County Interiors & Design received certification in September as a Woman-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) through the Wisconsin Department of Commerce.

The Egg Harbor-based business has been co-owned by Carol Trimberger since 2003, when she left a teaching position at Southern Door High School.

The state designation means that Door County Interiors & Design qualifies to work with governmental entities and corporations seeking relationships with businesses owned and operated by women or minorities. It validates that the business is at least 51 percent woman-owned, controlled, and managed.

“So for town halls, community based residential facilities (CBRFs), and many other organizations operating with governmental funds, Door County Interiors & Design can be the provider of services – whether it is flooring, window blinds, valances, or furniture,” said Trimberger.

Trimberger pulled together business documents and completed various forms to gain certification. The Department of Commerce’s certification is good for three years before reapplication is necessary.

Door County Interiors & Design is located at 7266 Highway 42, about two miles south of downtown Egg Harbor. For more information call 920.868.9008 or visit doorcountyinteriors.com. More information about WBE-certified businesses is online at http://commerce.wi.gov.
