The Sister Bay Advancement Association awarded the 2015 Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Volunteer of the Year award to Cheri Boock of Sister Bay and Ephraim. Boock was nominated for her volunteerism with the SCAND Auxiliary, Bargains Unlimited resale store, and Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church. Boock has volunteered for the SCAND Auxiliary for six years. She served as board president for SCAND Auxiliary, and was instrumental in encouraging the $2 million donation for the construction of the new assisted living wing at Scandia Village. She has worked hundreds of hours at Bargains Unlimited, in whatever roles the store needs.

At Shepherd of the Bay, Boock helped develop the Caring Shepherds Committee, serves as president of the group Women of Evangelical Lutheran Church, and is a commissioned Stephen Minister – helping women overcome troubling issues in their lives. She is also an active member of the Professional Educational Organization (PEO).

To honor her service, Boock rode as the Parade Marshall in the 70th annual Fall Fest parade, and she received a print from artist Tom Seagard, one of his Sister Bay Centennial edition pieces, “Up the Hill.”
