Cherry Fest Comes to Jacksonport August 1

Plans are underway for Cherry Fest 2009. Hosted by the Jacksonport Historical Society, this annual event takes place Saturday, August 1 from 9 am – 4 pm at Jacksonport’s Lakeside Park.

Homemade cherry goodies are at the center of this event, including homemade cherry kolaches, cherry pie, jams and jellies, and cherry brats and burgers.

Pioneer living demonstrations by reenactor Joe Jeanquart, a juried arts and crafts fair, and live entertainment from the Birch Creek Ambassadors, Matt Wahl, and the Mike Miller Band will also be featured. Mayberry’s Carriages will provide wagon rides, and a penny hunt is being planned for children ages 3 through 8.

The Jacksonport Historical Society will also be featuring their latest book, Piecing Together the Bulter Puzzle, at Cherry Fest. There will be a book signing from 11 am – 1 pm.
