The time is now to find sweet cherries in Door County’s orchards and markets! The sweet varieties have ripened and are ready to pick yourself or purchase by the pint, quart or pail. It will be another week or so before the famous “Door County cherry” – the Montmorency – will fully ripen. This tart variety is traditionally used in Door County cherry pies.
