Cheryl Wilson Retires from DC Library After 30 Years

Cheryl Wilson, technical support specialist at the Door County Library, will retire this spring after 30 and a half years of service.

She began working part time at the circulation desk in 1988 while finishing her work with the Department of Natural Resources. Throughout the years, she’s worked with three library directors, was in charge of the art and magazines to be checked out, and facilitated interlibrary loans. She also saw the first computers enter the library system and embraced the new technology. With her newfound free time, Wilson plans to read the many books she’s been meaning to get to, travel with her kids and grandkids, spend time with her husband, and focus on her organization: Prevent Suicide Door County Nathan Wilson Coalition. It’s committed to reducing suicide through prevention education, public awareness and overcoming stigma.
