Chicago Lyric Opera Singers Perform at Shepherd of the Bay: May 27, 2017

Chicago Lyric Opera singers will appear in a Memorial Day weekend concert hosted by Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church.

The concert, scheduled for May 27 at 7 pm, will feature the talents of soprano Desirée Hassler, mezzo soprano Pamela Williams, tenor John Concepcion and baritone Michael Cavalieri, with Judith Jackson at the piano. These four singers, returning to the stage at Shepherd of the Bay after a year’s absence, will present an attractive and engaging program of opera scenes from Verdi’s Rigoletto, beautiful songs from the French, Russian, English and Italian repertoire and then will move to American musical theater in the second half of the concert, singing familiar music from the beautiful scores of Rodgers and Hammerstein and other favorites. The program will appeal to music lovers of all ages, so plan to attend this concert and bring friends, neighbors and children to enjoy an evening of spectacular singing.

This event is free and open to the public. There will be a goodwill offering collected, which will be given completely to the visiting singers. After the concert, a reception will be held so that the audience and the performers can enjoy a little food and conversation.
