Write On, Door County will present a free artist conversation June 18, 3 pm, at Popelka Trenchard Glass, 64 S. 2nd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay. It’s part of Write On’s 2022 Dick Scuglik Memorial Residency and Fellowship, which is presented annually to a writer who works in ekphrasis: writing inspired by visual art.
The winner of this year’s fellowship is Adam James Cady, an MFA writing student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As part of the fellowship, he was paired with visual artists Jeremy Popelka and Stephanie Trenchard, and during the winter, the writer and artists exchanged work and created new writing and visual art in response to what they received.
The three will share their new creative work and talk about the process of developing new work in response to someone else’s art. A light reception will follow. Find out more at writeondoorcounty.org.
