Children Explore the Wonder of Water

The Boys and Girls Club of Door County and Margaret Lockwood Gallery invite all to a Celebrate Water Door County event “Under Our Water” on July 7, 1-3 pm at the Sturgeon Bay gallery. Light refreshments will be served.

The event features an imagined “under the bay” experience, with the artwork of children ages 5- to 11-years-old who are members at the Boys and Girls Club. In the experience are fish, sturgeon and sharks; mermaids and mermen; shipwrecks and everything that might be imagined to be in the bay. While working on the fanciful artwork, led by Art Director Nicole Champeny, the young people discussed the themes of Celebrate Water Door County including protecting our water resources and how each person and their family can make a difference in helping people enjoy and be inspired by this wonderful resource that is often taken for granted.
