CHIP Offers Program on Doctor Visits

Northern Door Health & Wellness Ministry continues its Community Health Information Programs with “Getting the Most Out of Your Doctor Visit” on Sept. 28 at 4 pm, at First Baptist Church in Sister Bay. Learn how to take an active role in your health care during this presentation, led by Greg Sheehy, MD.

How well you and your doctor talk to each other is one of the most important parts of getting good health care. This means organizing health care questions with priority to those that are of the most concern. Time constraints do exist, and it is important to understand that sometimes more than one visit may be necessary. In addition, it also means that it is important to ask questions if your doctor’s explanation or instructions are not clear or if you do not feel that your concern has been adequately addressed during the visit.

The Ministry also offers free blood pressure screenings on the fourth Tuesday of each month at St. Rosalia’s Church at 5 pm and at the Northern Door YMCA on the second Tuesday of each month from 8:15 – 10:15 am. For more information visit NorthernDoorHealthWellness.com.
