Choral Reading Of Dickens Classic

Isadoora Theatre Company will present a choral reading of A Christmas Carol, in Prose: Being a Ghost Story of Christmas by Charles Dickens on Dec. 19, 3 pm, at the Margaret Lockwood Gallery, 7 S. 2nd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay.

“This is not an adaptation,” local actor Ross Dippel said of Dickens’ classic Christmas story, which he has edited. “It is the novella Dickens wrote in 1843, lightly edited and divided to be read by four voices.”

Joining Dippel will be his daughter, Isabella Dippel, who’s a freshman in Viterbo University’s Conservatory of Fine Arts. There, she is serving as the freshman representative to the newly formed Student Theatre Project: a cutting-edge program created by Viterbo students who are developing productions that involve students in every part of the creative process.

Vance Toivonen and Cherryl Fonfara will also perform with the father-daughter duo.

The performance is free, but donations will be appreciated and will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Door County. Masks and proof of vaccination will be required.
