Christ Child Society of Door County recently received a grant from the Women’s Fund and the Door County Community Foundation for their continued support of their programs for local children. The Elizabeth “Betty” Lawrence Memorial Fund also presented the society with a grant.
Agencies such as Young Adult Parents, Spanish Resources, Healthy Families and Help of Door County are now able to refer clients to the Christ Child Society for needed items or the social worker from Ministry Health System may call in need of a car seat for a baby before going home from the hospital.
This is in addition to their layette program. A layette consists of a complete set of clothing that parents will need for their babies. On average, 80 complete layettes are given each year at the hospital.
