Christ Child Society Seeking Members

The Door County Wisconsin Chapter of the Christ Child Society is a non-denominational, nonprofit 501(c)(3) group of involved volunteers who have come together to meet the needs of children and families in the Door County community in practical ways.

Their layette program provides essentials for babies. Many items included in the layette, like quilts, sweaters, hats and socks, burp cloths and bibs are handmade by the members.

The One-on-One program is set in action by a call from one of the Social Service agencies in the county. They may call for a car seat, crib and mattress, diapers or needed clothing.

The School Support Program helps children return to school each year with necessary supplies and some clothing for a better chance of success. Shaken Baby Syndrome classes explain how only a moment of unbridled frustration of a caregiver can devastate the life of a child or cause death.

Christ Child Society founded a Moving Ahead Award to improve education and career potential for a struggling but determined parent.

The Society asks community members to consider becoming an active member or a donor. Meetings are held at St. Peter and Paul School in Institute, on the fourth Monday of the month at 12:30 pm. Christ Child Society’s annual fundraiser luncheon is set for Aug. 1 at Mr. G’s Logan Creek.
