Christmas at Birch Creek Is a Double Delight Dec. 7

Christmas at Birch Creek will feature two holiday concerts on Dec. 7 at the Birch Creek Music Performance Center’s Juniper Hall.

At the family matinee concert at 2:30 pm, all children 11 and younger will receive free admission. Faculty musicians will bring the spectacular sounds of brass and percussion to classic holiday songs, and vocalist Cynthia Stiehl will lead the audience in carol sing-alongs. The Madrigal Singers of Southern Door High School will also perform as special guests during the matinee concert.

During the evening concert at 7 pm, twinkling lights in the beautifully decorated concert hall will combine with the chimes, horns and bells of favorite holiday songs such as “Joy to the World,” “The Twelve Days of Christmas” and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah. A performance by the Sturgeon Bay High School Choir will also be a highlight of the evening concert.

Birch Creek will have an all-faculty ensemble for both concerts, including Tony Di Sanza, percussion; Matt Lee and Kevin Wood, trumpet; Charles Schuchat, tuba; Tom Stark, trombone; and guest artist Renée Vogen, horn.
