Christmas Bird Count on December 14

Crossroads at Big Creek will again participate in the Sturgeon Bay portion of the annual Christmas Bird Count on Dec. 14. Email Charlotte Lukes at [email protected] to participate. 

Crossroads will be open for those who want to spend a short time participating in the count, and volunteers are welcome to sit inside the Collins Learning Center to monitor the feeders. Sign up for one- or two-hour shifts by emailing [email protected]

Instead of a Friday Film on Dec. 13 at 3:30, Crossroads will show short clips of birds with tips and tricks for bird identification to help prepare participants for the Christmas Bird Count and bird watching in the winter.     

On Dec. 14, 12 pm, join the naturalist for a meal beside the windows in the Collins Learning Center. While you eat, record the birds that visit the feeder. No reservation is necessary.                                                                                                                      

The Collins Learning Center, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2-4 pm daily and during scheduled activities. Trails and restrooms are free and open to the public 24/7.
