Christmas in the Village Features Festive Activities throughout Ephraim

Mrs. Claus, pictured with one of her reindeer, will make an appearance at Ephraim’s Christmas in the Village.

The Ephraim Business Council invites the community to celebrate the season at Christmas in the Village on Dec. 1. Family activities are planned throughout the day.

Santa’s reindeer are back for a fourth year, from 1 – 4 pm, with Mrs. Claus outside the Ephraim Village Hall. Santa will mingle and take photos from 1 – 3 pm.

Beat the winter chill inside the Village Hall where hot soup and chili made fresh by Chef’s Hat Café will be available for purchase beginning at noon. Cookie sampler plates will also be available.

The Ephraim Moravian Church will have its doors open from 11 am – 2 pm to share the Advent season. Learn about the holiday traditions of Door County’s oldest church – trim candles, make stars and view nativity scenes.

Children’s activities will be held at the Ephraim Library from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, and kids can also partake in holiday crafts inside the Village Hall, 12:30 – 3:30 pm.

For the second year in a row, the Family Centers of Door County will host a Children’s Christmas Store in the Village Hall, 1 – 3 pm. This event allows children ages 4 – 12 the chance to purchase holiday gifts for their family at lower than retail prices. The children, with help from Santa’s elves, pick out their gifts and wrap them while their parents wait outside.

From 3:45 – 4:30pm, the Ephraim Historical Foundation will host a Christmas Family Sing-Along in the Village Hall with a special performance from the men’s singing group, The Doormen.

There is no cost of admission into the Village Hall. Participants are encouraged to bring a paper good or non-perishable food item donation for Koinonia Kupboard.

Several businesses will have open houses (some with special sales): The Eagle Harbor Inn, Ephraim Guest House, The Anderson House Shop & Gallery, Julie’s Upscale Resale, and Arbor Cottage.

The 13th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony closes the day at 4:30 pm in Harborside Park. Ephraim resident and volunteer firefighter Scottie Weborg will do the honor of lighting the tree.
