Christy Braun Qualifies for State in Two Events

Door County United senior girls swimmer Christy Braun of Sturgeon Bay has qualified in two events for the WIAA Division 1 state meet Nov. 12 at the Waukesha South Natatorium.

In the Nov. 5 Neenah sectional, Braun placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1 minute, 8.08 seconds) and fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:13.34) with her times faster than the state qualifying standards in Division 1 for both events.

In addition to the sectional champions automatically qualifying for state, the top 18 times of those not placing first from among the six Division 1 sectionals also advanced.
