Chronicling Family Stories with Write On, Door County

Are you interested in writing your family’s story? Author Robin Sauerwein will lead a four-week Writing Our Stories program beginning Feb. 2. Also on Feb. 2, 6 pm, award-winning novelist Kathleen Ernst – creator of the Chloe Ellefson mystery series – will share fiction techniques to enhance your memoir or family stories.

There’s still time to register for February’s Craft of Writing Series, which will begin Feb. 4 and focus on young-adult literature with award-winning authors Swati Avasthi and Kim Johnson.

Minnesota writer and 2020 McKnight Fellow in Poetry Jacob Lindberg will conclude his Write On residency this weekend. While here, he’s focused on a sonnet sequence about abducted or missing Midwestern children and made final revisions to his poetry manuscript.

Lindberg will offer a program in early February about poems that challenge Southern and Northern racial stereotypes in order to prompt writers to renegotiate what it means to be from the Upper Midwest.
