Cigar Box Guitar Auction at Door Community Auditorium’s 25th Anniversary Bash

On Sept. 23 at 6 pm, Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a festive evening of food and music at John and Jackie Sawyer’s barn in Egg Harbor (7590 Sunnypoint Road). The evening will also feature a cigar box guitar auction featuring cigar box guitars made by local artists, as well a a hand-crafted rose cigar box guitar signed by all of the 2016 DCA main stage artists.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Alexander’s Restaurant, Seaquist Orchards, and Wisconsin Cheese Masters. A cash bar will benefit DCA. Live music will be provided by Michael Lee Ammons and the Water Street Hot Shots.

The centerpiece of the evening, the signature cigar box guitar auction, will feature more than 20 cigar box guitars made by local artists, including a cigar box guitar signed by past DCA coffeehouse performers. The auction will also include a hand-crafted rose cigar box guitar signed by all 2016 DCA main stage performers (including Lyle Lovett, Béla Fleck, Ben Folds, and others). Twenty-five percent of each guitar’s net proceeds will be paid directly to the guitar’s artist, and 75 percent will benefit DCA’s new Passport Program for Students & Families.
