Why are you the best choice for common council?

I will strive to bring a proactive attitude to the city council. When something is right for the community, move forward. I have had a great deal of experience in leadership and decision-making.

Are there services that the City of Sturgeon Bay provides that should be cut or scaled back to save money? Are there services the city should take on?

With the pending budget cuts, everything will be on the table. It will be incumbent to gather the input of the citizens of Sturgeon Bay, the employees and department heads and staff to provide the city council with feasible courses of action.

What other issue or issues are a high priority for the city in the term ahead?

Most important will be the retention and creation of good paying jobs.

Working with other government entities to find opportunities for greater money saving efficiencies and possible sources of money will be very important.

What is the number one thing the council can do to make Sturgeon Bay a better place to live?

Sturgeon Bay is a great place to live and we must strive in these trying times to maintain the infrastructure and make affordable improvements when possible.

Why are you the best choice for common council?

I am the best choice for alderman in District 3, because I believe that city government should provide a positive voice and assertive leadership to achieve common goals for the city, businesses and our residents.

I am proud to live in sturgeon Bay and I take a lot of pride in living here and serving on the City Council. I have lived in Sturgeon Bay for all of my 52 years. I grew up in my parent’s grocery store on the west side of town and was hired, in 1984, by the postal service. Sturgeon Bay is a great place to raise a family. I am a workingman and I look at the city’s business thru a workingman’s eyes.

My 26 years working for the postal service have given me experience and insights into public sector issues.

I campaigned in 2009 to bring some common sense to the city council. I believe I have done that. I am committed to this day to continue to do the same.

I represent every one who resides in District 3. I am committed to NO special interest group or groups other than what’s best for my constituents and what’s best for the city of Sturgeon Bay.

I want to make sure you get value for your tax dollars.

You work hard for your dollars and I’ll work hard to help you keep more of those dollars and add value what your tax dollars buy.

Are there services that the City of Sturgeon Bay provides that should be cut or scaled back to save money? Are there services the city should take on?

The city of Sturgeon Bay provides quality services to our residents.

A priority would be to continue and improve those services. We will experience a changing revenue structure from the state of Wisconsin. We will need to be very prudent as to what we spend, but will not get out a hatchet and start chopping services out.

What other issue or issues are a high priority for the city in the term ahead?

I am committed to holding taxes down – growing our revenues and tighten unnecessary spending. Learning to stay within our means without over taxing people.

To keep our infrastructure as new as possible and user friendly to vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians.

Take a good look at the status quo of city work and just plain do our jobs better through efficiency and consolidation where possible.

What is the number one thing the council can do to make Sturgeon Bay a better place to live?

The number one thing the city council can do to make Sturgeon Bay a better place to live is – to market Sturgeon Bay and to attract people and business to locate here and live and raise and educate their children here. Also to keep Sturgeon Bay neat, clean, attractive and viable for everybody.
