Civics Games Finals Set for May 12

Students from 13 high schools statewide will compete in the Wisconsin Civics Games state finals – presented by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation – on May 12 at the Capitol in Madison. Fifteen teams of up to four students each will answer questions about civics-related issues, and each member of the winning team will receive a $2,000 scholarship to a Wisconsin college or university.

The state finals are open to the public and will also be broadcast on WisconsinEye. Opening remarks will begin at 9 am in Room 411 South, and the day’s speakers will include Gov. Tony Evers, Attorney General Josh Kaul, Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Patience D. Roggensack and UW System President Jay O. Rothman.
