Claire Olson Crowned First Fairest of the Fair

Claire Olson, daughter of Richard and Shelly Olson, was crowned the first ever Fairest of the Fair on July 11. Her parents own and manage Olson Family Farms with a herd of 60 cows. Currently studying agricultural education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, Claire was active in 4-H and FFA while attending Southern Door High School and continues being active in college with participation in the Agricultural Education Society, Block and Bridle and Dairy Club.

Helen Parks, a senior at Southern Door High School, was crowned Junior Fairest of the Fair. She is involved in many activities including National Honor Society, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, band, choir and FFA. Parks also has been a member of 4-H for nine years and plans to attend college to study equine science and agriculture business.

Parks has participated in numerous horse projects and has enjoyed showing her horses at the Door County Fair for several years.
