Classes and Events at Artists Guild

Wine Glass Painting is the theme for the July 16 session of Tuesdays with Jen Aldrich at Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay, held 10 am – noon. The cost is $25 and includes all materials. Registration is required by July 14.

Oil Painting with Lynn Gilchrist is scheduled for July 17, 9 – 11:30 am. Gilchrist will lead students through painting a still-life in oil, and share her palette range, techniques and favorite materials. Students bring their own materials and should have a basic knowledge of oils. The cost is $60. Registration is required by July 15.

Youth Art Classes for July 19 are on the topic of Magnified Flowers/Georgia O’Keefe for the younger classes and Thaumatropes/3-D Hands for teens.

Youth classes are held every Friday in the summer from 9:30 – 11 am (ages 5 – 8), 12 – 2 pm (ages 9 – 12), and 3 – 5 pm (ages 13 – 15). Cost is $25 per student for the morning class and $30 for the afternoon classes, including all materials. Registration is required by July 17.

“Urban Art: Why is it Important to a Community?” is the subject for the July 20 Art Speak series. Adjunct professor of Art History Jen Aldrich looks at how graffiti and community art projects can help revive a community from decay and decline. This program is free and open to the public.
