Classes and Events at Artists Guild

Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay announces topics for upcoming classes. Tuesdays with Jen meets weekly from 10 am – 12 noon, the project for June 11 is Painting Birdhouses. Participants of any skill level, ages 18 and above, will work with Jen Aldrich, using acrylic paints to decorate a wooden birdhouse. The price is $25 and includes all materials. Registration required by June 9.

The Art Speak session “Art Colonies” is scheduled for June 15, 10 am – 12 pm. Adjunct professor of Art History Jennifer Aldrich will give an illustrated talk exploring the history of and romanticism behind the art colony movement. The discussion will include Door County’s history as an art enclave. These presentations are free and open to the public.

A portrait session is scheduled for June 16, 12 – 3 pm. This non-instructed session with a live model costs $30, and is open to artists of all skill levels. Registration required by June 14.

Open Studio continues on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 am – 5:30 pm. The cost is $20 a day or $80 for a five-day pass.

Youth Art Classes, taught by Sarah Bradley, begin on a weekly basis starting June 21.
