Classes and Events at Artists Guild

Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay announces upcoming classes and events.

The topic for Tuesdays with Jen on June 18 is “What is Zentangle? Make a Zentangled Card.” Instructor Jen Aldrich will acquaint students with Zentangle, a form of deliberate and meditative drawing that involves repetition and patterning. The weekly class meets 10 am – 12 pm and costs $25, all materials included. Registration required by June 16.

Pastel Painting, taught by Lynn Gilchrist, is scheduled for June 19, 9 – 11:30 am. Intended for artists with a basic knowledge of the medium, the class will expand students’ techniques and experience. Artists bring their own materials; a modest supply list is available. Cost is $60 and registration is required by June 17.

Bottle & Brush, held June 21, 6:15 – 8:15 pm, is not the average painting class. Bring an adult beverage, invite friends, and enjoy step-by-step instructions with Aldrich. The cost of $35 per person includes all materials. This is an adults-only (21-years-old minimum) class. Register by June 19.

Working Plein Air is the topic for the June 22 session of Art Fundamentals. Instructors Sarah and Jeff Bradley will give students a history of and a working foundation in the principles of plein air painting and students will create a painting of their own. The class is open to all skill levels. The cost is $30, including materials and use of equipment. Registration is required by June 20.
