Claudia Russell Brings Her Americana Sound to Gibraltar Town Hall

California-based singer/songwriter Claudia Russell will share her Americana sound at the Gibraltar Town Hall, 4097 Main St. in Fish Creek, on July 20, 7 pm. Admission is $18.

Her husband, Bruce Kaplan, will accompany her on mandolin and guitar, along with Katie Dahl on guitar/vocals and Rich Higdon on bass and percussion. The quartet will also perform July 23, 7:30 pm, at Washington Island’s Trueblood Performing Arts Center.Russell and Kaplan play an eclectic and engaging blend of folk woven from blues, country, pop, western swing and bluegrass. Her tightly crafted songs deal with classic themes: love, longing, loss and more. Their most recent CD, Lovers Tree, reached number five on the national folk DJ charts, and their distinctive music and easy-going manner have earned them performances at top venues.
