Clean Boats Mean Clean Water

The Landing Blitz is a statewide effort to remind boaters and other water lovers to help stop the spread of aquatic invasive species, which pose great risks to the health of our lakes and fisheries.

Thousands of Wisconsinites and visitors take to the water during the July Fourth weekend – the state’s busiest boating holiday – so look for volunteers stationed at boat landings around the state July 1-10 who will demonstrate the prevention steps that boaters must take before they leave the water.

Clean Boats Clean Waters boat inspectors will also give out Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers boat towels, reminding people to remove all plants, tiny animals and mud, and to drain all water from watercraft.
