Clean Water Action Council Plans Conference to Promote Farm Tourism

The Clean Water Action Council of Northeast Wisconsin and Wisconsin Farmers Union are presenting a conference for farmers, members of the tourist industry, and residents to learn how agritourism can increase farm income while helping to maintain rural countryside. “Agritourism-Promoting Our Rural Sense of Place” will be held on April 5 from 11 am – 5 pm, at the Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay.

There will be a locally sourced luncheon buffet with keynote speaker, David Meuer, president of the Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Association, who will give an overview of agritourism in Wisconsin. Three concurrent breakout sessions will follow on ways farmers can increase their income. The topics include hosting group tours and motor coach trips, having on-the-farm pizza parties, hosting farm stays, making the transition to organic dairy farming, local zoning issues and resources, and insurance and liabilities.

Register by March 30 by mailing $20 per person to Clean Water Action Council, P.O. Box 9144, Green Bay, WI 54308 or go to cleanwateractioncouncil.org/events to register online.
