The Clearing Announces Workshop Program Classes

The Clearing Folk School introduces this year’s schedule of diverse one-, two- and three-day Workshop Program classes. Classes begin May 8 and run through Nov. 4. Registration is now open.

Multiple disciplines of classes in the arts, fine crafts, natural sciences and humanities are offered. New this year, after five years of fundraising, The Clearing’s new Forge Building is complete. Three blacksmith forging day classes are offered in the Workshop Program. Sandblasting on Glass with glass artist Gary Chaudoir is also new.

Write from your life experiences with Wisconsin historical author Jerry Apps or geologist/author/performer Roger Kuhns. In addition, Kuhns will bring the geologic history of the Niagara Escarpment alive. Naturalist Paul Regnier will teach the basics of birding, and Beth Coleman will present two one-day classes on Mindfulness: Growing a Lifelong Practice. Explore Door County mushrooms with Charlotte Lukes. Learn to draw or paint with pastels, acrylics or watercolors. Use your iPhone to capture and enhance incredible images or express your love of nature with a traditional digital camera. Create a glass mosaic using color and design.
