Clearing Float Wins First Place

The Clearing Folk School’s Float entry in the Olde Ellison Bay Days Parade won first place. The float replicates the historic Lodge building on The Clearing’s campus including its unique peaked window, large schoolhouse dinner bell, and cedar shingle roof. The float also made an appearance in the Baileys Harbor July 4th parade.

Assistant Director Erik Rinkleff designed and led a crew of able volunteers who built the structure. The building volunteers included Mike Jelen, Gary Dooly, John Morey, Matt Vigliocco, Ken Carlson, Gerry Voll, and Ron Klimaitis. More volunteers and staff walked the parade routes with candy and school information. The Clearing would like to thank all who volunteered as the school continues to celebrate its 75th Anniversary.
