Clearing Winter-Program Classes

The Clearing’s annual Christmas Open House is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Dec. 6–7, 10 am–4 pm at the Jens Jensen Center. Enjoy mulled apple cider and tasty treats while cozying up to the crackling fire. The Clearing’s indoor Christmas forest is something to behold. The open house is also a perfect time to register for winter-program classes. This free event is open to the public.

Next, attend the Welcome Winter reception at The Clearing Folk School’s Jens Jensen Center on Dec. 14, 3–6 pm. Guests can enjoy wine, fine cheeses and specialty chocolates while listening to live seasonal music with George Sawyn. The cost is $10 per person; call 920.854.4088 for reservations.

Registration is also now open for The Clearing Folk School’s 44th year of its community winter-program classes, which start Jan. 7 and end March 1. More than 90 adult day classes, many of which run multiple weeks, are being offered this year. In addition to an impressive variety of classes, the winter program represents something unique about Door County: an amazing group of 85 volunteer instructors who generously share their time, along with their considerable talent, for the benefit of the community. Winter-program classes are published online at theclearing.org. Catalogs are scheduled for delivery to Clearing student mailboxes around Dec. 1 and are also available at the Jens Jensen Center.

The Jens Jensen Center is located at 12171 Garrett Bay Road in Ellison Bay. For more information, call The Clearing at 920.854.4088 or visit theclearing.org.
