Clearing’s Docent-Led Hikes Continue Through October

The 87-year history, folklore and landscape of The Clearing Folk School are the subjects of free, two-hour, interpretive hiking tours to the historical campus and buildings led by volunteer docents on Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 30. They begin at 1 pm at the Jens Jensen Visitor Center, 12171 Garrett Bay Road in Ellison Bay. No advance registration is necessary. The terrain is a bit rugged in places, so sturdy walking shoes are highly recommended.

Also stop by the visitor center’s bookstore and gift shop, or take a self-guided tour of The Clearing’s historical campus Saturday and Sunday, 12-4 pm, with a map that’s available in the visitor center.

Find out more about docent-led hikes, weeklong retreat classes and one- and two-day workshops at theclearing.org or by calling 920.854.4088.
