Climate Change and the Upper Midwest Discussed at DCA

On March 2 at 9 am, the Door Community Auditorium’s Distinguished Lecture Series will offer a lecture entitled “Climate Change and the Upper Midwest,” by Jim Hodgson. Dr. Hodgson will briefly discuss the scientific basis and evidence for global climate change, followed by more specific descriptions of climate-change-mediated ecological impacts in the Upper Midwest, including Door County.

Topics will include recent temperature increases in Lake Superior and the return of the sea lamprey, temperature increases in inland lakes, and the invasion of southern species into northern ecosystems.

Hodgson’s lecture is free to the public (freewill donations encouraged). Refreshments from Base Camp Coffee Bar will be available for purchase.

Door Community Auditorium is located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
