Forest Recovery Project and Climate Change Coalition Plant 600 Trees

Keeping the requisite social distance, Katie Krouse (left) was one of 20 volunteers who pitched in to plant trees: the lungs of the Earth. The Forest Recovery Project and Climate Change Coalition (CCC) coordinated this spring’s effort, planting 600 trees during the last two weeks on private lands in Egg Harbor, Fish Creek and Sturgeon Bay.

CCC collaborates with partner organizations to carry out spring and fall plantings as a way to sequester carbon and thus combat climate change. Since 2016, CCC and its partners have planted about 11,000 trees in the county.
