Climate Change Programs in October

The Climate Change Coalition of Door County will host “The Earth Beneath Our Feet: Climate Change and the Soil-loss Crisis” on Oct. 12, 7 pm, at the Kress Pavilion, 7845 Church St. in Egg Harbor. Presenter Jo Handelsman will discuss our soil, the causes for its degradation, its relationship to carbon transfer and climate, and our relationship to the crisis.

The coalition will also host a high-performance home tour Oct. 15, 10 am – 4 pm, featuring residences in Egg Harbor, Baileys Harbor and Sister Bay. Meet high-performance architect Virge Temme and passive-house consultant/architect Meghan Hawkins, and tour four homes that they’ve created.
