Clippers’ Comeback Comes Up Short at Peshtigo

Sturgeon Bay’s baseball team rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh inning Tuesday, but the Clippers’ comeback came one run short in their 6-5 Packerland Conference loss at Peshtigo.

Both teams tallied 10 hits, with Sturgeon Bay’s Bryce Plzak, Danny Lodl and Cole Frangipane each having two hits. Lodl hit a pair of doubles, while Caleb Plzak and Brody Kollath added one double apiece.

Bryce Plzak recorded the pitching loss, allowing all six runs, four earned, on nine hits and two walks while striking out four.

The second game between the two teams, which was suspended due to darkness with the Clippers leading 3-2, will be resumed Friday.

Sturgeon Bay, which is now 4-5 in the conference and 6-7 overall, next hosts a league doubleheader Thursday against Algoma.
