Clippers Open Track Season at Ripon College

The Sturgeon Bay boys and girls track teams opened the season Thursday with an indoor meet at Ripon College.
The Clippers’ top finishes on the boys side included Espen Walker winning the high jump after clearing 5 feet, 10 inches, with Chase Hasenjager placing fourth at 5-4.
In the long jump, Sturgeon Bay’s Patrick Haese came in fourth at 18-3 and Zone Wienke placed sixth at 17-7.
The Clippers’ top-two finishes in the shot put included Braden Evers coming in sixth with a throw of 41-1 and Gannon Evers placing 11th with a toss of 37-10.
Sturgeon Bay’s 4×200-meter boys relay team of Hasenjager, Wienke, Haese and Craven Lautenbach finished seventh.
The Clipper girls recorded fourth-place finishes from Julia Kurek in the 1600 run (5 minutes, 53 seconds) and Ella Tarkowski in the 60 dash (8.37), while Cady Carlson placed ninth in the 60 dash (8.64).
Tarkowski, Carlson, Ava Estes and Tiviana Andropolis placed seventh in the 4×200 relay.
