Danny Lodl threw three touchdown passes in the second quarter Friday when Sturgeon Bay won its Packerland Conference home football game over Peshtigo, 36-2.
Lodl, who limped off the field after being tackled from behind early in the third quarter and didn’t return to the game, ended up completing 11 of 20 passes for 230 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions.
Caleb Plzak, who replaced Lodl at quarterback, added a pair of third-quarter touchdown passes and threw for 56 yards with four completions.
Kordell Anderson led the Clippers with 122 receiving yards on three catches with a touchdown. Patrick Haese added 86 receiving yards on five catches with a touchdown. Bryce Plzak caught two touchdown passes on five receptions for 49 yards. Dominic Robertson received the other touchdown pass with two catches for 35 yards.
Haese also accounted for 40 of Sturgeon Bay’s 93 rushing yards.
The Clippers, who led 36-0 after three quarters, gave up a safety in the final 12 minutes on a running play deep in their own territory when they were unable to advance the ball out of the end zone.
Sturgeon Bay, which improved to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the Packerland, will host a conference game against Oconto for Homecoming on Sept. 22.
