Clippers Qualify Three to State Track Meet

Three track-and-field athletes from Sturgeon Bay – one boy and two girls – have qualified for the WIAA State Meet on June 2-3 in La Crosse.

At Thursday’s Division 2 Sectional at Little Chute, where the top-four finishers in each event qualified for state, Clippers senior Espen Walker won the boys high jump after clearing 6 feet, 3 inches.

Sturgeon Bay’s girls who advanced to state include senior Madelyn Wind, who placed third in the shot put (36-4.75), and junior Nida Zukauskaite, who finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.42 seconds).
