Clippers Shut Out United in Packerland Soccer

Aldo Rangel scored three goals Thursday as part of the Sturgeon Bay boys soccer team’s 5-0 Packerland Conference home victory over Gibraltar/Sevastopol.

The Clippers also got goals from Daniel and Zone Wienke. Jackson Starr was credited for three assists on the evening.

Sturgeon Bay, which improved its Packerland record to 9-0 and hasn’t allowed a goal in conference action this season, plays its final league game Monday at Peshtigo.

Clippers Seeded No. 3 in D4 Tourney

The WIAA has released the pairings for the postseason boys soccer tournaments, with Sturgeon Bay having received a No. 3 seed in Division 4.

The Clippers will host their regional semifinal game Oct. 19 against No. 14-seeded Kewaunee, which lost both of its conference games against Sturgeon Bay this season.

The tournament winner advances to the regional championship game Oct. 21 to face the winner between No. 6-seeded Lourdes Academy/Valley Christian and No. 11-seeded Gibraltar/Sevastopol. The highest remaining seed will host the regional title game.
