At the start of the season Sturgeon Bay and Gibraltar/ Sevastopol were conference soccer co-favorites.
Both started strong, the the Vikings won the first match-up 1 – 0. For three weeks the Clippers kept pace, then out-lasted the Vikings in their rematch. Finally, the regular season came to a close last night as Gibraltar/ Sevastopol topped Wrightstown 2 – 0, and after eight weeks, the two squads are right back where they started – tied.
For Sturgeon Bay it marks their second straight season with at least a share of the crown. For Gibraltar/ Sevastopol, it iss their second title share in three years.
Regional tournament play starts Tuesday.
